Los chicos de T.O.P Media han regresado por todo lo alto. UP10TION ha realizado su comeback con CONNECTION, un trabajo que es el segundo álbum completo del grupo y que está arrasando a ritmo de SPIN OFF.
BA NA NA ha podido hablar con UP10TION en exclusiva y hemos realizado una entrevista para que podáis conocer mejor a los chicos de manera más cercana.

Tras una espera de 8 meses, estamos muy felices de poder disfrutar del talento, ritmo y energía de los chicos de UP1OTION. Que vuelven con energía renovada, y mostrándose como un grupo unido de 7 integrantes: Khun, Gyujin, Sunyoul, Kogyeol, Xiao, Hwanhee y Bitto.
El nuevo trabajo de UP10TION llega con CONNECTION, que es la gran continuación de LIGHT UP. Un comeback que presentaron en diciembre del 2020 y con el que lograron iluminarnos a través de su talento y tema principal LIGHT.
CONNECTION consta de 10 canciones increíbles que se presenta con el tema principal SPIN OFF, un trabajo con el que quieren volver a demostrar esa unión del grupo, volver a sacar a luz esa sinergía única que les une. Mientras transmite su fuerza para dejarte llevar y descubrir un nuevo mundo.
En BA NA NA hemos tenido la oportunidad de entrevistar en exclusiva a UP10TION, y poder conocer de primera mano como han vivido su comeback, sus planes de futuro y curiosidades y cómo ha sido su crecimiento tras su debut en 2015.

Es un placer poder entrevistar a UP10TION, un grupo que hemos seguido y apoyado desde debut. ¿Cómo ha cambiado vuestra vida desde vuestro debut en 2015? ¿Cómo os sentís después de tantos años de carrera?
KHUN: Gracias a todo el amor que nos dan nuestros HONEY10, pasamos nuestros días felices. Estamos muy agradecidos.
KOGYEOL: Fue un punto de inflexión en nuestras vidas. Mientras vivíamos juntos, he aprendido nuevas normas a seguir y hemos pasado buenos momentos juntos.
BITTO: Creo que experimenté muchas emociones que, si hubiese vivido una vida normal, no habría podido experimentar. Me di cuenta de que había muchas personas en el mundo que me querían y apoyaban, y me sentí responsable de devolverles tanta felicidad como ellos me daban.
SUNYOUL: La vida musical es dura pero soy feliz. Lo que me gusta hacer se convirtió en mi trabajo, así que no puedo hacer otra cosa que disfrutarlo. Incluso cuando estoy estresado, recuerdo que esto es algo que me gusta hacer así que soy feliz.
GYUJIN: Lloramos y reímos mucho. Hay muchos cambios en la vida.
HWANHEE: Estoy muy feliz de haber podido conocer a nuestros HONEY10 y recibir tanto cariño. Creo que nuestros miembros ahora son más una familia que otra cosa.
XIAO: He aprendido que poder recibir tanto cariño es una cosa increíble. Estoy muy contento de haber podido conocer a nuestras HONEY10 y de poder estar con mis compañeros.
It is a pleasure to interview UP10TION, a group that we have followed and supported since their debut. How has your life changed since your debut in 2015? How do you feel after these years of your career?KHUN: Thanks to all the love HONEY10 give us, we spend our days happily! We are very thankful.KOGYEOL: It was a turning point in our lives. While living together as a group, I’ve learnt new rules and spent good moments together.BITTO: I think I experimented a lot of emotions that I wouldn’t have gotten to experience if I had lived a normal life. I realized there are a lot of people who love me and support me and I felt responsible to give them back as much happiness as they give me.SUNYOUL: The music life is kind of hard but I’m happy. What I loved to turned out to become my full time job so I enjoy it! Even when I’m stressed, I remember I’m doing something that I love to do so I do it happily.GYUJIN: We laugh and we cry a lot. There’s a lot of changes during life.HWANHEE: I’m very happy to have been able to meet HONEY10 and to be able to receive so much love. I think our members are now more of like a family than anything else.XIAO: I’ve learnt that to be able to receive so much love is an amazing thing. I’m so happy to have been able to meet HONEY10 and with my members.
Estáis haciendo vuestro comeback con CONNECTION. Es vuestro segundo álbum completo en vuestra carrera desde que sacasteis Invitation en 2018. ¿Qué queréis contar a través de este álbum? ¿Cómo han sido las preparaciones?
KHUN: Ya que hacía tiempo que no sacábamos un álbum completo, nos hemos preparado pensando en mostrarles una buena imagen a HONEY10. Nos gustaría que nuestros HONEY10 fueran felices mientras escuchan nuestra música y ven nuestras actuaciones.
KOGYEOL: Con este álbum, queremos mostrar cuánto hemos mejorado y el tipo de música que nos gusta hacer.
BITTO: A través de este álbum nos hemos esforzado por mostraros la imagen de UP10TION que no pudimos mostrar durante las promociones pasadas. Nos hemos preparado intensamente, hay canciones de sub-unidades, duetos… así que escuchadlo cuanto antes.
SUNYOUL: A través de este álbum queremos enseñaros que UP10TION está creciendo continuamente.
GYUJIN: Queríamos mostraros nuestros diferentes aspectos y el proceso de preparación fue divertido.
HWANHEE: Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que lanzamos un álbum completo así que queríamos mostrar una diversa variedad de géneros musicales y de nuestros aspectos también. Espero que lo anticipéis.
XIAO: Recibimos muchísima fuerza y nos preparamos duro para este álbum. Quería mostrarles una imagen cool a nuestras HONEY10 así que practiqué muchísimo.
UP10TION, you are making your comeback with CONNECTION. This is your second full album in your career, and you have not released one full album since 2018 with Invitation. What do you want to tell through this new album? How have the preparations been for this album?KHUN: Because it’s been a while since we released a full album, we got ready while thinking of showing a good image to our HONEY10. It’ll be good enough if our HONEY10 were happy while watching our performances and listening to our music.KOGYEOL: Through this album we wanted to show how much progress we’ve made and what type of music we like to do.BITTO: Through this album we wanted to show you the image of UP10TION that we couldn’t show you during last promotions. We prepared very hard for this album, there are sub-unit songs, duet songs… So please listen to it as soon as possible!SUNYOUL: Through this album we wanted to show you that UP10tion is growing steadily.GYUJIN: We wanted to show you our different images and the whole preparation process was fun.HWANHEE: It’s been a while since we released a full album so we wanted to show a variety of music genre and a variety of our own images. I hope you look forward to it.XIAO: We received a lot of strength so we prepared really hard for this album. I wanted to show our HONEY10 a cool image so I practiced a lot.
SPIN OFF es vuestra nueva title track. ¿Qué parte de la canción destacarías y cuál es el punto principal de la coreografía?
UP10TION: Ya que es una extensión de LIGHT, nos gustaría que pudierais sentir las emociones de LIGHT. Nos gustaría poder mostraros la pasión y la habilidad de UP10TION para actuar encima del escenario. El punto clave de la coreografía es cuando aparecen los lyrics ‘지금부터야 SPIN OFF’, lo llamábamos ‘baile spin off’, es un paso que hacemos con nuestras manos para expresar que nuestra nueva historia está a punto de empezar.
SPIN OFF is your new title track, What part of the song would you highlight and what is the main point of the choreography?UP10TION: Since it’s an extension of LIGHT; we’d love for you to feel those emotions in LIGHT here as well. We want to show you our passion and our performing skills. The key point in our choreography is when the lyrics ‘지금부터야 SPIN OFF’ come out, we call it the ‘spin off dance’. It’s a dance we do with our hands to express that our new beginning is about to start.
En las canciones de este nuevo álbum, UP10TION también ha participado de nuevo en producción y composición. ¿De dónde sacáis la inspiración para componer? ¿Qué es lo que más os gusta de poner una parte de vosotros mismos en cada canción?
KUHN: Escribir canciones siempre es divertido y personalmente me siento orgulloso si participo en la composición. Si escribo letras que significan mucho para mí, acabo cogiéndole mucho aprecio a la canción.
KOGYEOL: Me inspiro de los fans, y participar escribiendo/componiendo siempre es divertido.
BITTO: Soy una persona que escribe canciones que me gustan, si otras personas escuchan las canciones que a mí me gustan y las disfrutan, entonces soy feliz. Creo que escribo canciones que merecen la pena escuchar.
XIAO: A mí me llega la inspiración escuchando a otros artistas o incluso estando en lugares diferentes a los usuales. Cuando eso pasa, abro la aplicación de las notas en mi móvil o incluso me grabo a mí mismo.
On the tracks of this new album we saw that UP10TION is participating again in producing and composing their new songs. Where do you get inspiration to compose? What do you like the most about putting a part of yourself in each job?KUHN: Writing lyrics is fun and personally I feel proud when I do so! If I write lyrics that come from my heart, I get attached to the song.KOGYEOL: I get inspiration from the fans, and participating in writing/composing is always fun to doBITTO: I’m the type to make songs that I enjoy, if other people listen to the songs that I enjoy and enjoy them too, I’m happy. I think I make songs that are worth a listen.XIAO: I get inspirations whenever I’m listening to other singers’ songs or even if I’m in a different environment. When that happens, I open my notes app on my phone and just write or record myself.
¿Qué podemos esperar de UP10TION en 2021 y en el futuro? ¿Tenéis algunos objetivos o sueños que os gustaría alcanzar como grupo?
KUHN: Me gustaría que lo hiciéramos aún mejor y que HONEY10 pudieran vernos en los medios de comunicación aún más.
KOGYEOL: El mayor objetivo es tener éxito como grupo.
SUNYOUL: Me gustaría ser un UP10TION que crezca continuamente sin dar pasos hacia atrás.
BITTO: Me gustaría viajar y conocer a todos los HONEY10 de diferentes países.
GYUJIN: Me gustaría que más gente supiera sobre el grupo y que pudiéramos llegar aún más alto.
HWANHEE: A mí me gustaría poder hacer un tour tan pronto como sea posible e ir a ver a nuestros HONEY10. Quiero recibir su energía a través de conciertos y fan meetings. Con suerte la situación mejorará pronto.
XIAO: Me gustaría que HONEY10 vieran nuestras actuaciones y escucharan nuestra música y recibieran mucha energía. Me gustaría poder hacer muchas promociones este año.
What can we expect from UP10TION in 2021 and future? Do you have any goals or dreams that you would like to achieve as a group?KUHN: I want to do even better and I want HONEY10 to be able to see us in the media a lot!KOGYEOL: Success as a team is the biggest goal.SUNYOUL: I want to be an UP10TION that grows steadily without going back.BITTO: I’d like to travel and meet all honey10 from different countries.GYUJIN: I’d like that more people knew about the group and we could go even higher.HWANHEE: I’d like to do a tour as soon as possible so we can see Honey10, I want to receive energy from fans through concerts and fan meetings. Hopefully the situation will get better soon.XIAO: I’d like for HONEY10 to listen to our music and see our stages and receive energy from it. I wanna do a lot of promotions this year as well.

KUHN: ¿Cantar…? Ah qué vergüenza…
KOGYEOL: Tocarme la mejilla con la mano derecha mientras cierro el ojo izquierdo.
BITTO: Estoy aprendiendo a tocar diversos instrumentos musicales estos días pero a medida que aprendo, he conseguido mejorar mi tono y ahora canto mejor.
SUNYOUL: Creo que saco buenas fotos.
GYUJIN: Sé imitar a Sponge Bob
HWANHEE: ¿Un talento oculto…? Aún estoy intentando descubrirlo.
XIAO: He estado escribiendo canciones y puedo enseñároslo a través de este álbum. En el futuro, si tengo la oportunidad, me gustaría enseñaros mi actuación.
In our interviews we love to know more about the artists, curiosities never seen and that surprise their fans. What hidden talents does UP10TION have? Surprise HONEY10!KUHN: Singing…? I’m embarrassed…KOGYEOL: Pocking my cheek with my right hand and winking with my left eye.BITTO: I’m learning to play different musical instruments these days but as I was learning, I got a better sense of the pitch and now I think I’m a better singer.SUNYOUL: I think I take good pictures.GYUJIN: I know how to imitate Sponge Bob.HWANHEE: A hidden talent…? I’m still trying to figure it out!XIAO: I’ve been writing songs and you can see that through this album. In the future if I get a chance I’d like to show you my acting.

Dada la situación actual, es complicado para vosotros poder ver a HONEY10. ¿Qué es la parte más difícil de la situación actual?
KUHN: Debido a la situación con COVID-19 es difícil poder ver a nuestros HONEY10.
KOGYEOL: Es una pena que no tengamos tanto tiempo para poder comunicarnos con los fans.
BITTO: No tenemos tantas oportunidades para comunicarnos con nuestros fans. Hacemos directos y subimos vídeos para poder comunicarnos aunque sea un poquito.
SUNYOUL: Es una pena que no podamos comunicarnos tanto con HONEY10, ¡pero lo haremos a través de redes sociales, vídeos en directo y fancafe!
GYUJIN: Creo que esa es la parte más difícil es no poder ver a nuestros fans.
HWANHEE: Es muy duro no poder ver a nuestros fans y comunicarnos con ellos. Ya que la energía y la fuerza la solemos recibir de ellos, y ahora no podemos disfrutarlo… Pero aún así, siempre estamos juntos.
XIAO: Es una pena que no podamos ver a nuestras HONEY10, y comunicarnos con ellos y enseñarles nuestras actuaciones.
Given the current situation, it's hard for you to meet Honey10. What's the most difficult part for you since you can be near to your fans at this moment?KUHN: Because of the situation with COVID19, it’s very hard to not be able to meet HONEY10.KOGYEOL: It’s a shame that we don’t have enough time to communicate with our fans.BITTO: The possibilities to communicate with our fans have become very little. We do live streamings and upload video content so we could still communicate a little bit with them.SUNYOUL: It’s a shame that we don't get to communicate as much with HONEY10s as much but we’ll be active through live streamings, sos and fan cafe!GYUJIN: I think that is the hardest part. Not being able to meet our fans.HWANHEE: It’s very hard to not be able to communicate and meet our fans. Since the energy and strenght we get is usually from our fans, we aren’t able to enjoy it. But still, we are always close!XIAO: It’s a shame that we cannot meet HONEY10 and show them our performances and communicate with them.
