[ENTREVISTA | INTERVIEW] MCND 엠씨엔디

El grupo MCND 엠씨엔디 es el nuevo grupo rookie masculino que ha debutado dentro de la compañía TOP Media. Su presentación fue en el mes de febrero, donde publicaban su primer mini álbum Into The Ice Age, donde mostraban un lado potente y lleno de energía con su title track ICE AGE.

Tras asentarse en la industria musical coreana, en BA NA NA hemos tenido el placer de hacer una entrevista a MCND, donde hemos hablado con los chicos sobre sus inicios, su preparación para el debut y los planes de futuro del grupo rookie de TOP Media.

Cinco son los integrantes que forman MCND. El 27 de febrero conocíamos oficialmente a CASTLE J, BIC, Minjae, Huijun y WIN, los miembros del grupo rookie de TOP Media, compañía que alberga también al mítico grupo TEEN TOP.

Hemos hablado con ellos sobre sus inicios musicales, su preparación en Estados Unidos para el debut de MCND y de todo lo que podemos esperar del grupo en este año. ¡No dejes de leer! 

Además, el grupo MCND realizará su comeback el próximo 9 de abril con el tema 떠(Spring). Una canción con la que seguro nos animan esta nueva entrada de estación en 2020. Así que no te pierdas esta entrevista para conocer mejor a este nuevo grupo. ¡¡Vuelven pisando fuerte!!



¿Qué significa MCND?
Son las siglas de Music Creates New Dream, que singifnica"crear un nuevo sueño con la música".

What does MCND means?
It stands for Music Creates New Dream, which means "creating a new dream with music".


Han pasado cinco años desde que un grupo debutó en TOP Media y algunos de vosotros habéis sido trainees de la agencia durante bastante tiempo. ¿Cómo ha sido el proceso del debut?

• CASTLE J: Me uní a la compañía justo antes de empezar el instituto y trabajé como trainee durante 5 años. Fui a Estados Unidos unas 4 veces y aprendí a bailar, e hice mi debut después de pasar por varios cursos de formación con mis compañeros más jóvenes.
• BIC: Empecé cuando me gradué de la escuela primaria, practiqué durante 5 años, fui a los Estados Unidos para practicar con los miembros, y trabajé en el grupo llamado MCND.
• Minjae: Entré en la compañía cuando estaba en el 6º grado de la escuela primaria y fui trainee durante 4 años. Fui a los Estados Unidos y fui a una competición de baile. Después de eso, hice mi debut como integrante de MCND.
• Huijun: Cuando entré en la compañía en 5º grado, como trainee, fui desarrollando mi sueño de convertirme en cantante. A la vez, pasé tiempo con los miembros que practicaban juntos, y ahora he debutado bajo MCND.
• WIN: Hubo un tiempo en el que quise rendirme porque pensaba que mi debut era demasiado para mí. Sin embargo, pude debutar con una gran apariencia porque practiqué más duro.

It had been five years since a group debuted on TOP Media and some of you have been trainees in the agency for quite some time. How has the debut process been?

• CASTLE J: Just before entering high school, I joined the company and worked as a trainee for 5 years. I went to the United States about 4 times and learned to dance, and I made my debut after going through various training courses with my younger brothers.
• BIC: I started when I graduated from elementary school, practiced for 5 years, went to the United States to practice with members, and worked as a team called MCND.
• Minjae: I entered the company when I was in the 6th grade in elementary school and lived as a trainee for 4 years. I went to the United States and went to a dance competition. After that, I made my debut as MCND.
• Huijun: When I first entered the company in 5th grade, as a trainee, I further developed my dream of become a singer. At the same time, I spent time with members who practiced together, and now I made my debut under the name MCND.
• WIN: There was a time when I wanted to give up because I thought my debut was still too much for myself. However, it seems that I was able to debut with a great appearance because I practiced harder.

¿Desde cuándo tenéis interés por la música?

• CASTLE J: Soñaba con ser artista desde que estaba en la escuela primaria.
• BIC: Cuando tenía 7 años, me interesé por la músicay empecé a bailar y poco a poco empecé a luchar por alcanzar mis sueños.
• Minjae: Empecé a bailar como hobby en tercer grado, y soñé con ser bailarín en quinto grado, más tarde, en sexto, soñé con ser un idol.
• Huijun: Desde que me convertí en trainee, me he interesado más y más.
• WIN: Tras entrar a la compañía como trainee, me gustó la sensación de rapear y actuar en el escenario, así que empecé a interesarme en el género del hip-hop y el rap.

Since when are you interested in music?

• CASTLE J: Ever since I was in elementary school, I dreamed of being an artist.
• BIC: I started dancing and gradually developed my dream since I was seven years old.
• Minjae: I started dancing as a hobby in third grade, and I dreamed of becoming a dancer in fifth grade, and I dreamed of becoming an idol in sixth grade.
• Huijun: Since I became a trainee, I've become more and more interested.
• WIN: As a trainee, I came across the genre of hip-hop and rap, and I liked the feeling of rapping and performing on stage, so I started to get interested in it.

MCND ha debutado con mucha fuerza y energía con "Into the Ice Age", con el tema principal "ICE AGE". ¿Qué significa esta canción para vosotros? ¿Qué es lo que más os gusta de ella?

• CASTLE J: Para mí, además de ser la canción oficial de mi debut, estoy muy apegado a ella porque escribí la letra solo.
• BIC: Es una canción que resalta la actuación y el sentimiento de nuestro grupo y permite que pueda hacerlo mejor. Me gusta la parte en la que WIN canta “wish list”.
• Minjae: Todos los que disfrutan con nosotros pueden convertirse en gemas, y eso significa, brillar como gemas.
• Huijun: El tema del título, ICE AGE, es como el comienzo de MCND. Y me gusta la parte en la que comparo a todo el público con la joya.
• WIN: Creo que es una canción que establece nuestra identidad firmemente, y me gusta porque la parte de HOOK es como si fuese nuestra presentación.

MCND has debuted with a lot of power and energy with Into the Ice Age, with the title track ICE AGE. What this song means to you? What do you like the most about it?

• CASTLE J: It's my official debut song and I'm very attached to it because I wrote the lyrics alone.
• BIC: It's a song that brings out the performance and feel of our team. And I like the part of 'My wish list' because I can't cope with Win’s part.
• Minjae: Everyone who enjoys it with us can become gems, and it means, let's shine like gems.
• Huijun: The title track ICE AGE is like the beginning of MCND. And I like the part where I likened all the audience to jewelry.
• WIN: I think it's a song that sets our identity firmly, and I like it because the hook part feels like we're introducing ourselves.

El hielo se ha convertido en el protagonista de vuestro primer mini álbum e incluso está en vuestro saludo como grupo. ¿Por qué el hielo? ¿Qué significa para vosotros?
CASTLE J: Me inspiré en ver el agua congelada mientras trataba de encontrar un objeto para compararlo con un día brillante en un día frío.

Ice has become the protagonist of your first mini album and even it is on your greeting as a group. Why the ice? What is the meaning of it for you?
CASTLE J: I was inspired to see the frozen water while trying to find an object to compare to a shining day on a cold day.


CASTLE J, además de ser el líder de MCND, has participado en la composición de vuestro debut. ¿Vamos a poder seguir disfrutando de tu gran talento para la composición musical?
CASTLE J: Sí, quiero seguir mostrándoos mi música. Creo que nosotros mismos deberíamos hacer nuestras canciones.

CASTLE J, as MCND leader, has participated in the composition of your debut. Are we going to be able to continue enjoying your great talent for musical composition?
CASTLE J: Yes, I want to continue to show you. I think we should make our song.

Estamos seguros de que los integrantes de MCND tienen una multitud de talentos. ¿Cuál es el mayor talento o habilidad que tenéis? Por ejemplo, tocar la guitarra, el taekwondo o cocinar.

• CASTLE J: Escribir y componer.
• BIC: El baile. Empecé a bailar cuando tenia 7 años y es de lo que más orgulloso me siento.
• Minjae: Me gustan todos los tipos de deporte y a veces cocino platos simples.
• Huijun: Hago taekwondo desde que era un niño. He ganado cuatro medallas de oro en distintas competiciones. Además, me gusta el fútbol o tocar la guitarra.
• WIN: Me gusta boxear. En casa practico los movimientos durante tres horas más o menos, pero nunca lo he aprendido de forma profesional. Por otro lado, dentro del género rap, me gusta el trap.

We are sure that the members of MCND have a multitude of talents. What is the greatest talent or skill that you have? For example playing the guitar, taekwondo or cooking.

• CASTLE J: Written and composed.
• BIC: It's a dance. I started dancing when I was 7 years old, so I'm most confident.
• Minjae: I like all kinds of sports and sometimes I cook simple dishes.
• Huijun: I've been playing taekwondo since I was a kid. I went out four times and won all four gold medals. Other than that, I like soccer, guitar, etc.
• WIN: I like boxing. I'm interested in practicing movements at home for about three hours in the morning, but I've never learned it properly. And I am confident in the genre of trap among rap.

Nos habéis contado que habéis aprendiendo a bailar con coreógrafos americanos en América. ¿Cómo fue la experiencia?

• CASTLE J: La atmósfera libre hizo que fuera más agradable aprender a bailar.
• BIC: Pude sentirlo más cuando lo vi en persona, y fue divertido.
• Minjae: En los Estados Unidos, había un sentimiento un poco diferente, y teníamos mucho que aprender porque la atmósfera y los sentimientos eran diferentes a los nuestros.
• Huijun: Cuando estuvimos en los EE.UU. para el entrenamiento de baile, creo que aprendí mucho sobre cómo disfrutar y expresar la atmósfera.
• WIN: Vi y sentí lo que la gente llama el “bonto vibe” y creo que a raíz de eso me interesé más en el baile.

You told us that you have been learning dance with American choreographers in America. How was the experience?

• CASTLE J: The freewheeling atmosphere made it more enjoyable to learn to dance.
• BIC: I could feel it all the more when I saw it in person, and it was fun
• Minjae: In the U.S., there was a bit of a different feeling, and we had a lot to learn because the atmosphere and feelings were different from ours.
• Huijun: When I was in the U.S. for dance training, I think I learned a lot about how to enjoy and express the atmosphere.
• WIN: I saw and felt what people call the "bonto vibe." Thanks to you, I'm more interested in dancing.

¿Creéis que el proceso de preparación y entrenamiento en los Estados Unidos es muy diferente al de Corea?

• CASTLE J: Completamente diferentes, pero fueron momentos importantes y valiosos. Creo que las dos experiencias nos hicieron lo que somos hoy en día.
• BIC: La atmósfera de la clase en sí fue más agradable, y aprendí mucho sobre cómo expresarme. En Corea, podemos aumentar el nivel de perfección y detalle.
• Minjae: En Corea, si la perfección era el propósito principal, en América, el humor y la expresión eran el propósito principal. Creo que eso es un poco diferente.
• Huijun: En Estados Unidos, aprendí mucho sobre cómo disfrutar y expresarme cuando bailo y canto.
• WIN: Creo que el proceso de práctica del k-pop y el hip-hop es diferente. El hip-hop tiene una gran sensación de disfrutar, pero creo que el k-pop es diferente porque los integrantes que practican juntos practican juntos y mejoran la calidad del escenario.

Do you think that the preparation and training process in the United States is very different from that of Korea?

• CASTLE J: Obviously different, but they were both important and valuable times. I think the two experiences made us who we are today.
• BIC: The atmosphere of the class itself was more enjoyable, and I learned a lot about expressing. In Korea, we can increase the level of perfection and detail.
• Minjae: In Korea, if perfection was the main purpose, in America, the mood and expression were the main purpose. I think that's a little different.
• Huijun: In the U.S., I learned a lot about how to enjoy and express myself when I dance and sing.
• WIN: I think the k-pop and hiphop practice process is bound to be different Hip-hop has a great feeling of enjoying it, but I think K-pop is different because the members who practice together practice together and improve the quality of the stage.

Vuestro debut con ICE AGE es un éxito, ya hemos visto a muchos fans españoles bailar esta canción en convenciones. Además, muchos fans internacionales os apoyan diariamente a través de las redes sociales. ¿Qué opináis de esto? ¿Esperabas el apoyo de estos fans internacionales?
