[ENTREVISTA | INTERVIEW] 1TEAM 원팀

El grupo 1TEAM 원팀 debutaba en el primer cuarto de 2019 después de que algunos de sus integrantes se dieran a conocer en diferentes survival shows. El 27 de marzo conocíamos el primer trabajo del grupo rookie masculino de Liveworks Company, un trabajo que llegaba con mucho color y ritmo, Hello! 

No tardábamos mucho en conocer el primer comeback de 1TEAM, pues cuatro meses después presentaban JUST, su segundo mini álbum, con el que han estado promocionando durante el verano de 2019. 

En BA NA NA hemos tenido la oportunidad de entrevistar a 1TEAM y hemos hablado con ellos sobre sus inicios, sus objetivos como grupo y sus expectativas musicales. 

¿Quieres saber qué nos han contado? ¡No te pierdas nuestra entrevista a 1TEAM! 

1TEAM es un grupo formado por cinco integrantes -Rubin, BC, Jinwoo, Jehyun y Junghoon- que se presentaban con el tema VIBE en marzo de 2019 y que pronto volvían a los escenarios con ROLLING ROLLING, tema de su segundo mini álbum y con el que alegraban el verano de sus TEAM ONE, fandom oficial del grupo. 

Sin embargo, poca gente conoce en profundidad a sus cinco integrantes, y por eso en BA NA NA hemos hablado con ellos en una entrevista en la que conocemos y descubrimos algunos secretos de 1TEAM. ¡No te la pierdas! 

Para las personas que aún no conocen 1TEAM, ¿podéis explicar el nombre del grupo y presentarlo? 

1TEAM significa que 5 miembros con caracteres individuales se juntan y se convierten en uno. Cada miembro tiene su propio carácter encantador, pero cuando se juntan, se crea una sinergia para mostrar una versión más enérgica y segura de sí mismos. 

For the people that still do not know 1TEAM, can you explain the name of the group and introduce the band? 

1TEAM means that 5 members with individual characters come together and become one. Each member has his own unique charming character but when they come together, it creates synergy to show more energetic and confident version of themselves. 

¿Qué significa 1TEAM para cada uno de vosotros? 

• Rubin: Para mí, 1TEAM es como Los Vengadores. Al igual que Los Vengadores tienen héroes muy diferentes convirtiéndose en un equipo, nosotros, con nuestros miembros como 1TEAM, queremos convertirnos en los mejores de la industria musical. 
• BC: Para mí, 1TEAM es familia. Me da una sensación de pertenencia y estabilidad como la de estar con mi familia, la sensación que no tuve cuando estaba en el programa de audiciones antes de mi debut. 
• Jinwoo: Para mí, 1TEAM es un patio de recreo. Al igual que cuando me divertía en un patio de recreo en mi infancia, quiero disfrutar, hacer y mostrar lo que quiera en 1TEAM sin preocuparme por nada. Además, todo el mundo se hace amigo en un patio de recreo, y como allí, quiero que mucha gente escuche nuestra música, disfrute y se acerque a nosotros. 
• Jehyun: Para mí, 1TEAM es un aire acondicionado. En un verano sofocante, un aire acondicionado te hace feliz con su viento fresco, y 1TEAM para mí esa misma felicidad. 
• Junghoon: Para mí, 1TEAM es sinónimo de tener siempre 20 años. Hice mi debut como 1TEAM cuando tenía 20 años. Aprendí y experimenté muchas cosas nuevas, así que en el futuro, cuando piense en 1TEAM, siempre recordaré al chico de 20 años que soy. 

What does 1TEAM mean to each of you? 

• Rubin: To me, 1TEAM is Avengers. Just like having very different heroes becoming a team, us with our members as 1TEAM, want to become the best in the music industry. 
• BC: To me, 1TEAM is family. It gives me a sense of belonging and stability just like being with my family, the feeling that I didn’t get when I was in the audition program before my debut. 
• Jinwoo: To me, 1TEAM is a playground. Just like having fun in a playground back in my childhood, I want to enjoy, do and show whatever I want in 1TEAM without worrying about anything. Plus, everyone becomes friends in a playground, so just like that, I want many people to listen to our music, enjoy, and like us. 
• Jehyun: To me, 1TEAM is an air conditioner. In sweltering summer, an air conditioner makes you happy with its cool wind, and 1TEAM to me is happiness itself. 
• Junghoon: To me, 1TEAM is forever 20. I made my debut as 1TEAM when I was 20. I learned and experienced so many new things, so in the future, when I think of 1TEAM, I will always remember the 20-year-old me. 

¿Cuál ha sido la parte más complicada de debutar como 1TEAM? 

Rubin: Antes de debutar como 1TEAM, pasé por varias situaciones de no debutar en otras compañías de entretenimiento. Así que, incluso cuando supe que iba a debutar y tenía una fecha fija para ello, estaba muy nervioso y preocupado. La inseguridad fue la parte más difícil antes de hacer mi debut. 

What was the most difficult part of making a debut as 1TEAM? 

Rubin: Before debuting as 1TEAM, I had several cases of failing to make a debut in another entertainment company. So, even when I knew that I was going to be debuting and had a fixed date for it, I was nervous and worried. The insecurity was the most difficult part before making my debut. 

¿Cuál ha sido el momento más feliz desde vuestro debut? 

Antes del debut, estábamos emocionados y preocupados por subir a un escenario, pero ahora siempre estamos felices, conmovidos y agradecidos cuando oímos a nuestros fans gritarnos a través de los auriculares internos cada vez que subimos al escenario. 

Cuando fuimos a Los Ángeles a rodar el M/V de 'Rolling Rolling', estábamos caminando por Hollywood y nos encontramos con gente que tenía nuestro álbum 'HELLO!’. Estábamos tan felices y orgullosos… Encontrarnos a un fan nuestro es algo difícil de experimentar, incluso en Corea. Fue simplemente increíble. Estábamos realmente conmovidos y sentíamos que teníamos que trabajar más duro todavía. 

When was the happiest moment since your debut? 

Before the debut, we were excited and worried about the stage, but now we are always happy, touched and thankful when we hear our fans shouting for us through the in-ear headphone every time we go up on the stage. 

When we went to LA to shoot the M/V for ‘Rolling Rolling’, we were walking in the Hollywood street and we just bumped into people and they had our ‘HELLO!’ album, and they asked to take a picture together. We were so happy and proud. It’s something hard to experience even in Korea, just running into our fan in a street. It was just amazing. We were truly touched and felt like that we had to work harder. 

¿Cuándo fue la primera vez que os interesasteis por la música? 

• Rubin: Acababa de ver a Kang Seungyoon de Winner cantando 'Black or White' de Michael Jackson en 'Superstar K2' y pensé en si podía ser alguien como él. Desde entonces, he soñado con ser cantante. 
• BC: He tocado música clásica durante mucho tiempo y el primer tema pop que interpreté fue 'Candy Shop' de 50Cent. Me impactó cuando lo escuché por primera vez y pensé que quería cantar canciones que hicieran latir el corazón de alguien algún día. 
• Jinwoo: Después de escuchar las canciones de Jung Dong Ha (BooHwal), quise cantar canciones con las que la gente pudiera identificarse. 
• Jehyun: Acababa de ver una actuación de 'Rainism' de Rain y después de eso aprendí a bailar profesionalmente. 
• Junghoon: Para mí, los raperos que veía sobre el escenario eran increíbles. Verlos me hizo darme cuenta de que quería estar en el escenario, luciendo guay, rapeando y contando mis historias. 

When did you first get interested in music? 

• Rubin: I just happened to see Kang Seungyoon from Winner singing ‘Black or White’ by Michael Jackson on ‘Superstar K2’ and thought if I could become someone like him. Since then, I dreamed of being a singer. 
• BC: I’ve been doing classic music for a long time and the first pop was ‘Candy Shop’ by 50Cent. It had a strong impact when I first heard it and I thought I wanted to sing songs that make someone’s heart beat someday. 
• Jinwoo: After listening to Jung Dong Ha (BooHwal)’s songs, I wanted to sing songs that people could relate to. 
• Jehyun: I just followed ‘Rainism’ performance by Rain and after that I learned how to dance professionally. 
• Junghoon: To me, rappers rapping on stage looked so cool. Seeing them made me realize that I wanted to be on stage, looking cool, rapping and telling people my stories. 

Nos encanta saber de los grupos, ¿Qué curiosidad nos podéis contar de los chicos de 1TEAM? ¿Tenéis algún talento oculto? 

• Rubin: Me especialicé en pintura occidental. Mi hobby es el dibujo y recientemente me interesó la pintura oriental. 
• BC: Aprendí a tocar la flauta durante mucho tiempo. Cuando estuve en los Estados Unidos, participé en un concurso como miembro de una orquesta representante del estado de Kentucky. 
• Jinwoo: Fui jugador de fútbol hasta la secundaria. No gané ningún premio en ningún concurso, pero la integridad y el trabajo en equipo que aprendí entonces son muy útiles para mí ahora. 
• Jehyun: Antes de ser artista, hice Taekwondo durante 8 años. Gané la medalla de oro en un concurso organizado por la ciudad de Seúl cuando estaba en la escuela primaria. 
• Junghoon: Aprendí Kendo durante 7 años. No era un atleta, pero gané un premio en una pequeña competición. 

We love knowing about the groups, what curiosity can you tell us about the boys from 1TEAM? Do you have any hidden talent? 

• Rubin: I majored in Western painting. My hobby is drawing and recently, I got interest in Eastern painting. 
• BC: I learned to play flute for a long time. When I was in the US, I participated in a competition as a member of an orchestra, also a representative of state of Kentucky. 
• Jinwoo: I was a soccer player till I was in middle school. I did not win any awards in a competition, but the integrity and teamwork I learned back then are really helpful for me now. 
• Jehyun: Before being an artist, I did Taekwondo for 8 years. I won the gold medal in a competition hosted by Seoul City when I was in elementary school. 
• Junghoon: I learned Kendo for 7 years. I was not an athlete, but I won an award in a small competition. 

Si pudierais definir el estilo de 1TEAM, ¿cuál sería? 

Ser libre. Creemos que ser libre es 1TEAM como tal. 

If you could define 1TEAM’s style, what would it be? 

Being free. We believe that being free is 1TEAM itself. 

¿Qué tipo de música quieres mostrarle al mundo? 

Queremos que la gente se quede impresionada al escuchar nuestra música. Nos gustaría tener un carácter distintivo en nuestra música como 1TEAM, así que queremos que la gente diga que "siempre vale la pena escuchar la música de 1TEAM". 

What kind of music do you want to show the world next? 

We want people to have a strong impression when people hear our music. Having a distinctive character show in our music as 1TEAM, so we want people to say that “it’s always worth listening to 1TEAM’s music.” 

¿Qué encanto tiene 1TEAM? ¿Qué os hace diferentes del resto de grupos? 

Lo que tenemos, y que nos diferencia de los demás es que somos enérgicos, confiados y libres. Además, somos auténticos tanto dentro como fuera del escenario, lo que significa que no actuamos de forma muy diferente ante la cámara y entre bastidores. 

Somos conocidos por disfrutar y divertirnos de verdad en el escenario. Nos divertimos en el escenario cada vez que nos subimos a él. Por supuesto, cada álbum tiene un concepto establecido, pero no fingimos y actuamos en el escenario, sino que nos expresamos a través de la música. No actuamos como si nos estuviéramos divirtiendo en el escenario, sino como nos divertimos de verdad, disfrutando de nuestra actuación. 

¡No lo fingimos! ¡Somos enérgicos, seguros y libres! Esto es lo que tenemos y que es algo diferente a los demás. 

What charm does 1TEAM have? What makes you different from other groups? 

What we have and something different from others is that we are energetic, confident and free. Plus, we are genuine both on and off the stage, meaning we don’t act much differently on camera and behind the scene. 

We our known to enjoy and truly have fun on the stage. We just have fun on stage every single time we present ourselves. Of course, each album has set concept, but we don’t fake and act on stage, but rather just express ourselves on stage through music. We don’t act like we’re having fun on stage, but it’s just us having real fun, enjoying our performance. 

Not faking it! Being energetic, confident and free! This is what we have and something different than others. 

¿Cuál es el mayor logro de 1TEAM en 2019? ¿Qué podemos esperar de 1TEAM en el año 2019 y 2020? 

Nuestra primera canción, 'VIBE', ocupó el noveno lugar y 'Rolling Rolling' de este álbum ocupó el octavo lugar en M COUNTDOWN. Estamos avanzando paso a paso, así que estamos muy orgullosos. Si continuamos subiendo uno por uno, tal vez algún día, podamos llegar al primer puesto. 

Tuvimos una mini fan-meeting cuando hicimos el comeback con nuestro segundo álbum <JUST>. Estábamos felices y agradecidos de haber tenido una oportunidad tan increíble antes de lo que esperábamos. Trabajaremos más duro para ver a más fans en un lugar más grande y divertirnos todavía más. 

What is the biggest achievement for 1TEAM in 2019? What can we expect from 1TEAM in the year 2019 and 2020? 

Our debut song ‘VIBE’ ranked 9th and ‘Rolling Rolling’ from this album ranked 8th in M COUNTDOWN. We are making progress step by step, so we are very proud. If we continue to climb up one by one, maybe someday, we hope that we could land ourselves in the first place. 

We held a mini Fan-con when we had our comeback for our 2nd album <JUST> with our fans. We were happy and grateful that we had such an amazing opportunity earlier than we anticipated. We will work harder to see more fans in a bigger venue and have more fun. 

Muchos fans extranjeros apoyan a 1TEAM. ¿Cómo os sientes sentís ante esto? ¿Esperabais este tipo de reacción? 

Vemos muchos idiomas extranjeros en los comentarios de los videos de YouTube de nuestras actuaciones o de nuestros M/V. No podemos entender todos los comentarios, pero definitivamente sentimos el amor de nuestros fans. Es realmente asombroso y agradable. No esperábamos tanto amor hacia nosotros, así que es aún más significativo y estamos muy agradecidos por ello. 

Many international fans are supporting 1TEAM. How do you feel, and did you expect this kind of reaction? 

We see a lot of foreign languages in the comments for your YouTube videos of us performing or our M/V. We cannot understand all the comments, but we definitely feel the love from dear fans. It’s really amazing and thankful. We didn’t expect this much love toward us, so it’s all the more meaningful and appreciative.
