I.C.E 아이스 es el único grupo femenino de HS Entertainment y acaban de cumplir dos años desde su debut. Se presentaban en un escenario en noviembre de 2015 con su primer single, y que tras un año preparándose y con cambios en su formación, Kimmi, Minju, Dahye y U-Jin regresan con más fuerza que nunca. Tras dos años sobre el escenario y un single y un mini álbum, las chicas de I.C.E regresaban en 2018 con Shameless (뻔뻔해), donde conocemos por primera vez a U-Jin, que entraba en el grupo a finales de 2017 y sustituía a Yuna. En BA NA NA hemos tenido la oportunidad de preguntarles por su trayectoria, sus fans y sus trabajos anteriores. ¡No te pierdas esta entrevista!
¿Cuál es el significado de I.C.E y qué significa para vosotras como grupo?
I.C.E procede literalmente del hielo (ice). Su significado no tiene ningún significado especial, pero significa mucho para nosotras, porque gracias a I.C.E podemos permanecer juntas.What is the meaning of I.C.E and what does it mean for you as group?
I.C.E literally came from the ice. it has no special meaning on the name, but it means a lot to us because I.C.E makes us to stay all together.
Hace dos años que debutasteis como I.C.E. ¿Cuáles han sido los mejores y peores momentos en este largo camino?
El mejor momento es cuando nuestros fans vienen a apoyarnos sea donde sea que actuemos y cuando nos mandan mensajes por las redes sociales. El peor momento es cuando vemos que hay gente que nos juzga o deja malos comentarios. Nuestro mejor y peor momento siempre viene de la mano de los fans.Two years ago you debuted as I.C.E, what was the best and worst moment during this long way?
The best moment was when fans came to cheer us whenever we perform on the stage, and when they send us a messages on SNS. The worst moment was when we see those people who are judging us, or leaving a bad comments. Our best and worst moments always comes from fans. |

Sois el primer grupo femenino de vuestra compañía, HS Entertainment. ¿Cómo os sentís ante eso?
Es un gran honor para nosotras. Y como somos el primer grupo femenino de la compañía, trabajaremos todavía más duro.
You are the first girl group of your company, HS Entertainment, how do you feel about it?
I think it’s a great honor for us. Since we are the first girgroup of the company, we will work harder.
Vuestra nueva canción desprende mucha energía, y nos hemos enamorado de cada plano del videoclips. ¿Ha sido divertida la grabación?
Durante la grabación del video las risas fueron continuas. Estábamos preocupadas por nuestra nueva integrante, U-Jin, por supuesto, pero lo hizo bien pese a ser su primera vez grabando un videoclip.
En el videoclip de Shameless cada una de nosotras tenía un personaje del que hacer un cosplay. Fue divertido vernos las unas a las otras y decir “te pareces” o “no te pareces”.
Your new song has a lot of energy, and we have fallen in love with each shot of the MV. Was the video recording fun?
There was a constant stream of laughter at the music video shoot. Of course, we were worried about our new member U-Jin, but she did well even it was her first time to shoot a MV.
On the Shameless music video, each of us had a character to make a cosplay. We had fun by seeing each other by saying “you look a like” or “you don’t look a like”
¿Hay algún género musical que queráis hacer en el futuro?
Continuaremos actuando con música dance. También nos gustaría añadir más elementos y colores del hip-hop basados en la música electrónica.
Is there any genre of music that you want to do in the future?
I think we will continue to perform dance music. I'd like to add some more hip-hop colors based on electronically music.¿Os gustaría poder debutar en otros países, como en Japón o China?
Sí, hemos estado en China durante tres meses antes de nuestro debut, así que si hubiese una posibilidad de haber allí un debut oficial, nos encantaría. También en Japón, Estados Unidos, Brasil, Turquía, Filipinas, Singapur…Would you like to debut in other countries, for example in Japan or China?
Yes. We have been to China for three months before making our debut, so if there is any chance for us to make a formal debut, we absolutely want to. And also in Japan, USA, Brazil, Turkey, Philippines, Singapore and so on.
Acabáis de abrir vuestras redes sociales. ¿Cómo está siendo la experiencia? ¿Notáis más apoyo de fans internacionales y de Corea a través de ellas?
Sí, tenemos más mensajes de fans después de abrir nuestras redes sociales. Estamos muy agradecidas, y nos gustaría decir que leemos cada uno de los mensajes que nos mandan. Lo apreciamos mucho.
You have just opened your sns. How was the experience? Do you get more support from international and Korean fans through sns?
Yes, we get more messages from fans after we have opened our SNS account. We are very thankful, and we want to say that we are reading every single messages came from our fans. We really appreciate it. |

¿Desde cuándo tenéis interés por la música?
KIMMI: Aprendí hip-hop cuando estuve en el hospital después de un accidente en el instituto y desde entonces estoy fascinada por esa música.
DAHYE: Me gustaba cantar y bailar desde que era una niña.
MINJU: Era débil cuando era joven, pero cuando cantaba o bailaba dejaba de tener esa sensación, así que decidí ser cantante.
U-JIN: Como ha dicho Dahye, me ha gustado cantar y bailar desde que era niña.
Since when are you interested in music and rehearsing for it?
KIMMI: I first learned hip-hop music when I was in the hospital after an accident when I was in high school. I've been fascinated with hip-hop ever since.
DAHYE: I liked to sing and dance since I wad a kid.
MINJU: I was weak when I was younger, but whenever I sing and dance, I didn’t feel that I was weak. So I decided to be a singer.
U-JIN: Like what Dahye said, I also liked to sing and dance since I was a kid.
Kimmi, has lanzado una mixtape, [I am who I am]. ¿Te gustaría publicar otro trabajo en solitario? Y for U-Jin, Minju y Dahye, ¿os gustaría lanzar un trabajo en solitario?
KIMMI: Sí, antes de firmar con HS Entertainment, preparé 6 temas para la mixtape [I am who I am] y publiqué “Going Home”, su primer tema. Esto fue antes de ser seleccionada como la integrante final de I.C.E, y el CEO de la compañía estaba bastante disgustado sobre publicar esta mixtape. No pude publicar el resto de canciones, porque la compañía no me permitía tener trabajos individuales. Actualmente, la compañía no permite actividades individuales, así que ahora me gustaría ser una artista y poder hacer todo tipo de música.
DAHYE: Si I.C.E triunfa, me gustaría mostrar una actuación propia. Pero primero, quiero mostraros más de nuestro grupo.
MINJU: Primero, me gustaría que a I.C.E le fuera bien en la música. Después de eso, si pudiera tener actividades individuales, me encantaría actuar. Aparecí en un drama el año pasado y me pareció muy interesante.
U-JIN: Por ahora, me gustaría que a I.C.E le vaya bien como han dicho el resto de integrantes. De todas formas, me gustaría tener mi propio trabajo algún día si tengo la oportunidad.
Kimmi, you also have a mixtape, [I am who I am]. Would you like to release another solo work? And for U-Jin, Minju and Dahye, would you like to drop a solo work?
KIMMI: Yes, before I entered HS ent, I prepared 6 tracks for the mixtape [I am who I am]. And I released “going home” which was the first track from [I am who I am]. That was after I got selected as the final member of I.C.E, and the CEO of the company got very upset about releasing a mixtape. I couldn’t release the rest of tracks because the company didn’t allow me to have any solo works. The company still does not approve our individual activities. So now, I want to be an artist and a broadcaster who can play all kinds of music.
DAHYE: If I.C.E goes better, I would like to show my own performance. But first, I want to show you more from the I.C.E.
MINJU: First, I wish I.C.E will go well. After that, if I could have individual activities, I would be interested in acting. I took a drama last year, and it was very interesting.
U-JIN: For now, I wish I.C.E would work out well like what other members have said. However, I would like to try my own activities someday if I have the opportunity.
¿Qué talentos ocultos tiene I.C.E? ¿Tocáis algún instrumento, por ejemplo?
KIMMI: Estos días estoy hacienda de DJ y estoy en el quinto grado de Taekwondo. Compongo música con un sintetizador, y puedo tocar el ukelele y el piano.
DAHYE: No tengo talentos ocultos, la verdad.
MINJU: Practico Taekwondo y estoy en el cuarto grado, y he tocado el piano durante muchos años. No soy tan buena como antes, pero puedo tocarlo.
U-JIN: ¿Es un talento hacer feliz a la gente de tu alrededor? Sé tocar el piano y voy a aprender a tocar la guitarra.
What hidden talent do I.C.E have? For example, Do you play any instruments?
KIMMI: I'm so into DJ-ing now a days, and I am taewkondo 5th grades. I compose music with synthesizer. I can play Ukulele and piano.
DAHYE: Sadly, I have no hidden talents.
MINJU: I am a 4th grade in taekwondo, and I have played piano for a long time since I was young. It is not as good as before, but I still can play piano.
U-JIN: Is it a hidden talent to make people around you happy? I can play piano, and I am about to learn to play guitar.
Si os tuvierais que describir con una palabra, ¿cuál sería y por qué?
KIMMI: Negro y blanco sería una buena opción. La imagen que doy sobre el escenario y la que realmente es son muy diferentes.
DAHYE: ¡Arcoiris! Me gusta mostrar diferentes facetas de mi misma.
MINJU: ¡Blanco! Cualquier color que pongas sobre él, lo absorbe.
U-JIN: Un papel, en él puedo pintar o escribir cualquier cosa que quiero mostrar.
If you had to describe each one with a word, what would it be and why?
KIMMI: Black and white would be good for it. The way I look on the stage and the way I really look is so different.
DAHYE: Rainbow! I want to show many different shapes of me.
MINJU: White! Whatever color you put on, I can absorb everything.
U-JIN: A paper, I can draw or write anything that I want to show you.

¿Hay algún artista coreano o internacional que respetéis?
KIMMI: Me gustan los artistas que pueden cantar y rapear. Respeto mucho a Fergie desde hace muchos años, y también a Yoon Mirae (T), Jessie, DG y Zico.
DAHYE: Taeyeon, de Girls’ Generation. Creo que tiene todas las cualidades de un idol, no solo canta y baile, y me encantaría aprender de ella.
MINJU: Suzy. Es muy buena cantando, bailando y actuando. Sería feliz siendo como ella.
U-JIN: IU. Su talento musical es absolutamente respetable y es muy buena actuando y en diferentes géneros.
Do you have any Korean or international artist that you respect and follow?
KIMMI: I like artists who can both sing and rap. I respect Fergie since a long time ago, and I also respect Yoon Mi-rae (T), Jessie, GD, and Zico.
DAHYE: Taeyon from Girl’s generation. She seems to have all the qualities of an idol, not just singing and dancing, so I always want to learn.
MINJU: Suzy, she is really good at singing, dancing and acting. I would be happy to become like her.
U-JIN: IU, She is so respectable in her musical talents, and she is cool in acting, and in various genres.
¿Qué país os gustaría visitar y por qué?
KIMMI: Me encantaría ir a Estados Unidos. Quiero aprender música y comprar equipo allí de varias marcas. Normalmente compro muchos productos de equipo musical, pero es todo americano y me encantaría ir allí y comprar todo.
DAHYE: ¡Nueva York! He oído que allí hay muchos “fashionistas”. Quiero ir a verlos, porque estoy muy interesada en la moda y quiero probar comida deliciosa también.
MINJU: Inglaterra. Soy muy fan de Harry Potter y quiero sentir las vibraciones de Harry Potter.
U-JIN: Me encantaría ir a Croacia. Si voy, creo que voy a sentirme como en un cuento de hadas. Además quiero hacer muchas fotos y comer comida realmente deliciosa.
Which country would you like to visit and why?
DAHYE: New York! I heard that there are so many fashionistas. I really want to see them, because I'm interested in fashions. and I really want to try some delicious food.
MINJU: England. I really like Harry Potter, so I want to feel the Harry Potter vibes.
U-JIN: I really want to visit Croatia. If I go there, could feel like I'm in a fairy tale. I want to eat a lot of delicious food and take a lot of pictures.
