Con el nuevo comeback de ODD EYE CIRCLE con Version Up a la vista, en BA NA NA hemos podido hablar con las chicas sobre su trayectoria, objetivos y próximos pasos.

Tras el debut de ODD EYE CIRCLE en 2017 con Mix & Match y su repackage, ha llegado el momento de volver a disfrutar de Kim Lip, JinSoul y Choerry juntas como unidad musical. Lo hacen con Version Up, nombre que también recibe el próximo tour europeo de ODD EYE CIRCLE que van a realizar en agosto de 2023.

En primer lugar, es un honor entrevistar a ODD EYE CIRCLE en esta nueva era, ¡y tenéis un montón de proyectos en marcha! ¿Cómo estáis? ¿Cómo os sentís?
JinSoul: ¡Gracias! Hemos estado bien. Estuvimos bastante ocupadas preparando el álbum mientras nos adaptábamos a una nueva compañía. Ahora, tras nuestro regreso, cada día ha sido un placer.
First of all, it's an honor to interview ODD EYE CIRCLE in this new era and you have a lot of projects going on! How are you? How do you feel?
JinSoul: Thank you! We’ve been good. We were quite busy preparing for the album while adapting to a new company. Now after our comeback, every day has been delightful.
El sonido, la energía y el color de ODD EYE CIRCLE han sido únicos desde el principio. ¿Cómo describiríais a ODD EYE CIRCLE en una sola frase y cómo creéis que ha sido vuestra evolución como trío?
Kim Lip: Somos un grupo lleno de energía, lo que nos ha valido apodos como "unidad de verano" o "unidad caliente". También nos hemos vuelto inseparables después de lo que hemos pasado. Los tres integrantes somos amigas íntimas, pero lo interesante es que todas somos diferentes. A nuestros fans les encanta nuestra química.
The sound, energy, and color of ODD EYE CIRCLE has been unique from the beginning. How would you describe ODD EYE CIRCLE in just one sentence and how do you think your evolution as a trio has been?
Kim Lip: We are a group full of energy, earning us nicknames like ‘summer unit’ or ‘hot unit’. We’ve also become inseparable after what we’ve been through. All 3 members are close friends but the interesting part is that we are all different. Our fans love our chemistry!
ODD EYE CIRCLE ha vuelto a los escenarios con nueva música después de 7 años. ¿Estabais nerviosas o impacientes por volver a los escenarios como ODD EYE CIRCLE?
Choerry: Para ser sincera, estaba supernerviosa ya que han pasado 7 años desde que estuvimos en el escenario. Antes del regreso, estaba preocupada y emocionada al mismo tiempo. Pero después de conocer a nuestros fans en persona, sólo hemos sentido felicidad cada día.
ODD EYE CIRCLE has returned to the stage with new music after 7 years. Were you nervous or impatient for your return to the stage as ODD EYE CIRCLE?
Choerry: To be honest, I was super nervous since it’s been 7 years since we were on stage. Before the comeback, I was worried and excited at the same time. But after meeting our fans in person, we’ve only felt happiness every day.
Acabáis de reaparecer con "Version Up". ¿Cómo ha sido todo el proceso de grabación? ¿Qué ha sido lo más difícil a la hora de preparar este trabajo?
JinSoul: Bueno, tuve una dificultad durante el proceso. Mi estilo de cantar ha cambiado, así que me llevó un tiempo reconstruir de nuevo el estilo de cantar de ODD EYE CIRCLE.
You have just made a comeback with "Version Up". How has the whole recording process been? What has been the most difficult thing preparing this work?
JinSoul: Well, I had one difficulty during the process. My singing style has changed, so it took me awhile to rebuild the ODD EYE CIRCLE style singing again.
Habéis lanzado un total de 6 nuevas canciones, siendo "Air Force One" el tema principal con un sonido totalmente nuevo para vuestros fans. ¿Qué queréis transmitir con este tema y qué lo hace tan único?
Kim Lip: Creemos que este álbum es un precioso regalo para nuestros fans, que nos han estado esperando. Por ejemplo, "Lucid" es una canción dedicada específicamente a los fans. Queremos crear recuerdos felices todos juntos a través de este álbum.
You have released a total of 6 new songs, with "Air Force One" being the title track with a totally new sound for your fans. What do you want to convey with this theme and what makes it so unique?
Kim Lip: We think this album is a precious present for our fans who have been waiting for us. For instance, “Lucid” is a song specifically dedicated to the fans. We wish to make happy memories all together through this album!
Además de "Air Force One", que es increíble, ¿qué canción recomendaríais escuchar a alguien que acaba de hacerse fan y quiere descubrir el talento y el sonido único de ODD EYE CIRCLE?
Choerry: Personalmente, ¡"Sweet Crazy Love" es mi favorita! Creo que esta canción tiene un sonido magnífico y una atmósfera difícil de conseguir. ¡Deberiais conocer "Sweet Crazy Love" para saber más sobre nosotras!
Besides "Air Force One", that is amazing, what song would you recommend listening to to someone who has just become a fan and wants to discover ODD EYE CIRCLE’s talent and unique sound?
Choerry: Personally, “Sweet Crazy Love” is my favorite! I think this song has a magnificent sound and atmosphere that is hard to come by. You should check out “Sweet Crazy Love” to learn more about us!
Toda Europa está muy emocionada porque ODD EYE CIRCLE hará la gira "Volume Up" en agosto de 2023. ¿Qué esperáis de esta gira? ¿Estáis nerviosas por volver a ver a vuestros fans?
JinSoul: Estoy absolutamente emocionada porque es la primera vez que salimos de gira como ODD EYE CIRCLE. Por otro lado, pensar en actuar en el escenario me ponía nerviosa, pero la idea de conocer a nuestros fans internacionales ha borrado todas las preocupaciones. Ahora estoy emocionada y feliz.
All of Europe is very excited because ODD EYE CIRCLE will go on the "Volume Up" tour in August 2023. What do you expect from this tour? Are you nervous about seeing your fans again?
JinSoul: I am absolutely thrilled since this is our first time going on tour as ODD EYE CIRCLE. On the other hand, thinking about performing on stage made me nervous but the thought of meeting our international fans has erased all the concerns. Now I’m just excited and happy!
¿Qué creeis que es más fácil de preparar o cumplir a la hora de hacer un regreso como ODD EYE CIRCLE? ¿Bailar, cantar o hacer todas las actividades?
Kim Lip: Las cosas no fueron tan fáciles para nosotras. Nos dimos cuenta de que nuestras voces habían cambiado mucho después de tantos años. También nos llevó tiempo recordar la coreografía de ODD EYE CIRCLE. Supongo que lo más fácil para nosotras fue mantener nuestro trabajo en equipo, ya que nuestra química ha evolucionado gradualmente.
What do you think is easier to prepare or fulfill when making a comeback as ODD EYE CIRCLE? Dancing, singing or doing all the activities?
Kim Lip: Things were not that easy for us. We noticed that our singing voices have changed a lot after all those years. Recollecting the already existing ODD EYE CIRCLE choreography took some time as well. I guess the easiest part for us was maintaining our teamwork since the chemistry among us has evolved gradually.
Tenemos mucha curiosidad y siempre nos hacemos esta pregunta. ¿Qué talentos tiene ODD EYE CIRCLE? (cocinar, tocar instrumentos, hacer deporte...)
Choerry: Todas tenemos talentos diferentes. A mí se me da bien cocinar. Suelo cocinar en mis días libres. Me encantaría preparar algún plato para nuestros fans algún día.
We are very curious and always ask this question. What talents does ODD EYE CIRCLE have? (cooking, playing instruments, sports...)
Choerry: We all have different talents! For me, I’m good at cooking! I often cook during my days off. I would love to prepare some dishes for our fans someday!
Nueva era... ¿Cuáles son vuestros nuevos sueños? ¿Qué esperáis de 2023 para ODD EYE CIRCLE e individualmente?
JinSoul: Lo primero es crear recuerdos felices con los fans. Me gustaría que hubiera muchas actividades offline, como conciertos y reuniones de fans, para poder conocerlos en persona. Además, ¡sería genial que pudiéramos saludar a muchos fans nuevos este año!
New era... What are your new dreams? What do you expect from 2023 for ODD EYE CIRCLE and individually?
JinSoul: The very first thing is to make happy memories with the fans. I wish lots of offline activities such as concerts and fan meetings would happen so we can meet our fans in person! Also, it would be awesome if we could greet many new fans this year!
Y si hablamos de objetivos... ¿Tenéis algún objetivo personal que queráis alcanzar?
Kim Lip: Sólo quiero divertirme con los fans a través de este álbum. Como hemos dicho, ¡tener recuerdos felices es nuestro objetivo actual!
And if we talk about goals... Do you have any personal goals that you want to achieve?
Kim Lip: I just want to have fun with the fans through this album. As we said, making happy memories is our current goal!
