El pasado 6 de agosto del 2022 la capital madrileña pudo vibrar a ritmo del solista Kim Woojin, un concierto único que unió a sus CUBS en la sala Independance Club y que era la decimotercera parada de su gira por Europa gracias a Onion Production.
El artista Woojin sorprendió a todos sus CUBS con un concierto increíble en el que no pararon de sonar sus grandes éxitos como Still Dream o Ready Now, así como covers, regalos y muchas sorpresas para todos sus fans. ¡Sin duda un concierto increíble que puedes leer en nuestra review!
Pero antes de este increíble show, BA NA NA pudo reunirse con Kim Woojin en persona para hacerle una entrevista en exclusiva. Durante la misma pudimos hablar de su tour, la preparación para el mismo, sus fans y sus planes de futuro. ¡Descúbrelo!
En primer lugar, muchas gracias por aceptar nuestra entrevista. Es un honor tener esta oportunidad durante tu primera gira mundial y también en tu primera gira europea. ¿Cómo fue la preparación para la misma y cómo te sientes al respecto?
La verdad es que no he tenido mucho tiempo para prepararme para esta gira. Y como no he tenido mucho tiempo he estado con el pensamiento de que tengo que hacerlo bien, pero después de actuar en varios conciertos y delante de mis fans he podido coger más fuerza para poder presentarme y continuar.
First of all, thank you so much for accepting our interview. It is an honor to have this opportunity during your first world tour and also on your first European tour. How was the preparation for your tour and how do you feel about it?
The truth is that I haven't had much time to prepare for this tour. And since I haven't had much time... I've been thinking that I have to do well, but after performing in several concerts I've been able to gain more strength to continue this tour.
Para empezar, todos han sido muy divertidos... pero quizás el que más recuerdo es el de Milán porque fue el primero de todos y era en el que estaba más nervioso. Pero como creo que lo hice tan bien me ha animado mucho a seguir con el tour.
Your European tour began in July in Milan, and from then until now you have performed a total of 12 concerts in different countries. How was the experience? Can you tell us any memorable anecdote?
All the concerts have been very funny... but perhaps the one I remember the most is Milan's show because it was the first one and I was nervous. But since I think I did so well, it has encouraged me a lot to continue with this tour.
Al haber estado en diferentes países a lo largo de esta gira, me interesa mucho saber la diferencia de cómo actúan y cómo reaccionan las fans. Sobre el español... no he tenido la oportunidad de ir a clases y estudiarlo pero he practicado algo gracias a Duolingo.
In Spain you have a total of 2 stops, first Madrid and then Barcelona. What do you expect from Spanish CUBS? Have you been able to learn some Spanish for these stops?
I am very interested in knowing the difference in how fans act and how they react. About learn Spanish... I haven't had the opportunity to go to class and study it, but I have practiced something in Duolingo.
[De fondo suena Still Dream y se escucha a CUBS cantarla] La canción que está sonando ahora mismo y que están cantando mis fans, Still Dream. Porque les gusta mucho a las fans, y a mi también me gusta por el mensaje, su letra, y la esperanza que transmito a mis fans.
If you had to choose a song that you enjoy the most during the show, what would it be and why? And CUBS, which song do you think they enjoy the most?
[Still Dream plays in the background and CUBS are singing] The song that is playing right now and that my fans are singing Still Dream. Because my fans like it a lot. I also like it because of the message, lyrics, and the hope that I transmit to my fans.
Esta gira es un gran momento en tu carrera en solitario, pero si tuvieras que contarnos un reto que tienes como artista o un legado que quieras dejar... ¿Cuál sería y por qué?
He tenido el reto o dificultad de no poder tener mucho tiempo para prepararme para este tour pero lo he hecho con mi mejor esfuerza. Y si tuviera que dejar un legado serían las letras de mis canciones y el significado de estas ya que quiero que las entiendan y las tengan en cuenta.
This tour is a great moment in your solo career, but if you had to tell us a challenge that you have as an artist or a legacy that you want to leave... What would it be and why?
I had the challenge or difficulty of not being able to have much time to prepare for this tour but I have done my best. And if I had to leave a legacy it would be the lyrics of my songs and the meaning of these, since I want them to be understood.
Siempre estoy preparando nuevas canciones, por supuesto. Pero tampoco sé, específicamente, cuando saldrán las siguientes. Pero si, estoy preparando nuevas canciones.
Do you have any plans for new music after this tour?
I'm always preparing new songs, of course. But I don't know, specifically, when the next ones will come out. But yes, I'm preparing new songs.
Esta es la primera vez que estoy en España y tengo muchas ganas de sentir vuestra energía y el ambiente. Y por supuesto, quiero dar las gracias a todos mis fans que han venido a apoyarme en esta gira por Europa.
And finally, could you send a greeting or a few words to all the fans who are going to enjoy your concert in Madrid and Barcelona?
This is my first time in Spain and I really want to feel your energy and atmosphere. And of course, I want to thank all my fans who have come to support me on this European tour.
