Conocimos a Teramoto Yukika てらもと ゆきか bajo el nombre de Yukika en Corea del Sur, una artista y cantante de City Pop que llegó al país desde Japón persiguiendo su sueño de cantante. Paso que consiguió en 2019 con la publicación de su primer single 네온 (NEON).
Desde su debut el 22 de febrero de 2019 la cantante no ha dejado de publicar nueva música, y es que ha tenido un fabuloso año 2021 en el que bajo Ubuntu Entertainment ha logrado capturar aún más la atención del público internacional.
Durante este año hemos disfrutado desde 'timeabout', 여자이고 싶은걸 (loving you), 그라데이션 (The Moment) o 애월(愛月) (Lovemonth). Todo temas en los que ha podido demostrar su gran talento y colores únicos. Pero no sólo eso, sino que además realizó su esperado debut en Japón en el que fue recibida con los brazos abiertos.
BA NA NA ha tenido el honor de hablar con ella en una entrevista exclusiva y descubrir más sobre su trayectoria profesional. Repasa junto a YUKIKA su mudanza a Corea del Sur, sus primeros pasos, evolución, proyecto de futuro y sus sueños.

¡Gracias por aceptar esta entrevista Yukika! Para empezar queremos que te presentes a nuestros lectores y además que te describas a ti misma como artista. ¿Qué frase o palabra usarías y por qué?
'hola que tal?' Hola a todos! ¿Qué tal? ¡Soy Yukika, una cantante de City Pop que actualmente promociona en Corea del Sur! ¡Estoy encantada de poder hacer esta entrevista! Creo que la mejor palabra para describirme sería ‘libertad’, soy una persona con un alma bastante libre.
Thank you for agreeing to this interview Yukika! First of all, we’d like you to introduce yourself to our readers. Also, we’d like to know how you would describe yourself as an artist. What phrase or word would you use to describe yourself and why?'hola que tal?' Hi everyone! I’m Yukika, a City Pop singer currently promoting in South Korea! I’m very happy to be able to do this interview! I think the word that would describe me the best would be freedom! I’m a person with a free soul!
¿Cuándo empezaste a tener interés en la música y cuándo decidiste que tu futuro sería convertirte en una celebridad?
Creo que siempre he estado interesada en ser una artista. Cuando era pequeña me gustaba mucho la música, pero nunca se me pasó por la cabeza ser cantante hasta hace 5 años.
When did you start being interested in music and when did you decide that your future would be being a celebrity?I think I was very interested in becoming an artist even since I was little. I liked music a lot when I was young but I never thought about becoming a singer until five years ago!
¿Qué artistas coreanos, japoneses o internacionales te inspiraron para ser artista o te inspiran actualmente?
Desde que era pequeñita, mi madre escuchaba artistas como Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Prince… Así que pude disfrutar de muchísimos artistas internacionales. Incluso ahora, escucho muchísimos artistas internacionales y últimamente también escucho mucho música latina.
What Korean, Japanese or international artists inspired you or inspire you right now?Since I was young, my mom enjoyed listening to Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Prince… So I got to enjoy a lot of international artists! Even now I listen to a lot of international artists plus I also listen to latin music lately!
Creciste en Japón y comenzaste tus primeros pasos allí como modelo, cantante o dobladora ¿Qué recuerdas de aquella época?
Cuando vivía en Japón hacía muchísimas cosas diferentes, pero desde que llegué a Corea del Sur estoy centrándome en mis actividades como cantante. Si en el futuro tengo la oportunidad me gustaría intentar hacer cosas diferentes.
You grew up in Japan and you took your first steps as a model, singer and voice actor. What do you remember the most about that time?When I lived in Japan, I used to do so many different things, but ever since I came to Korea I just focused on being a singer. If later I get a chance to try something else I wanna give it a go.
Dejaste Japón y viajaste a Corea del Sur, donde actualmente te encuentras como cantante. ¿Por qué decidiste venir a Corea del Sur y cómo fueron tus inicios en el país? ¿Fue duro empezar en una ciudad distinta para perseguir tu sueño de cantante?
Cuando vine a Corea de Sur vine para grabar una serie porque la serie original era muy popular en Japón, así que estaba bastante interesada en ello. El argumento de la serie eran cantantes que se convertían en un grupo real. Una vez terminó la serie, recibí una oferta para debutar en solitario y aquí estoy.
Desde que era pequeñita estaba muy interesada en la cultura coreana. Al principio fue un poco frustrante con el idioma, pero ahora que estoy completamente adaptada, Seúl es como mi segunda casa.
You left Japan and went to South Korea where, currently, you’re being a singer. Why did you decide to come to South Korea and how was your first time in the country? Was it hard to start in a different city to follow your dream to be a singer?At first, I came to South Korea to shoot a drama because the original drama was very popular in Japan, so I was really interested in that part. The plot was singers who also become a real group. After that project, I received an offer to become a soloist artist and so I became a singer.I was very interested in Korean culture since I was young. At first I was frustrated with the language but now that I have fully adapted, Seoul is my second hometown.
En tus primeros pasos en Corea del Sur te pudimos ver en programas de televisión y supervivencia. ¿Qué nos puedes contar de esta época? ¿Hay alguna anécdota que te gustaría destacar?
¡Aparecí en King Of Masked Singer de MBC! Fue un programa muy interesante porque, a pesar de que es un ‘survival show’, sólo podía utilizar mi voz, no había información ni prejuicios sobre mí.
In your first moments in South Korea, we were able to see you in different variety shows or survival shows. What can you tell us about that time? Is there situations or experiences that you love to remember?I appeared in MBC’s King Of Masked Singer! It was a very interesting program because, although it’s kind of like a survival show, I could only use my voice so there wasn’t any information or prejudice.
Tu debut fue en 2019 con Neon, un trabajo que ha marcado mucho tu carrera. Pero hemos podido verte evolucionar hasta 여자이고 싶은걸 (Loving you). ¿Cómo ha sido tu crecimiento como artista? ¿Qué dificultades te has encontrado y qué has aprendido con cada trabajo?
Desde mi debut he estado trabajando de manera continua con el género musical de city pop, así que ser apodada la Reina del City Pop me gustó bastante. Aunque ha habido momentos difíciles, los he superado y aún sigo creciendo. Me gustaría recibir energía de mis fans viéndoles en persona, pero lamentablemente eso está algo complicado ahora mismo.
You debuted in 2019 with Neon, something that marked your career. We have been able to see you evolve until 여자이고 싶은걸 (Loving you). How was your grow as an artist? What hard moments have you found along the way and what have you learn with each album/single?Since debut, I’ve worked with the city pop genre steadily so being called the Queen of City Pop actually felt good. There were difficult times but I overcame them and I’m growing. I’d like to get energy from my fans by meeting them in person, but right now that’s a bit complicated.
En 2021 has lanzado 4 singles y 1 mini álbum. Se podría decir que 2021 es tu año. ¿Qué canción destacarías como el tema más especial para ti de los que has lanzado en 2021? ¿Por qué ese?
I think the most special song for me is Neon. Since it’s my debut song, it’s the first song a lot of fans think of when they think of my songs.
You’ve released 4 singles and 1 mini álbum in 2021. You could say that 2021 was your year. What song would you say is the most special song for you? And why is that?Creo que la más especial para mí es Neon. Ya que es mi canción debut, es además la primera canción que les viene a la mente a muchos fans cuando piensan en mi música.
En 2021 también has realizado tu debut en Japón ¡Felicidades! Te presentaste con tu éxito Insomnia y acabas de publicar Tokyo Lights. ¿Qué significa para ti debutar en Japón? ¿Cómo enfocas este nuevo reto en tu carrera?
Antes del Covid-19, hice muchas actuaciones en Japón con canciones que había sacado en Corea. Fui muy feliz cuando debute oficialmente en Japón con una canción japonesa, y fui aun más feliz al ver todo el apoyo que recibí de fans japoneses. Cada país tiene un estilo diferente, así que creo que será divertido probar nuevos estilos para las próximas canciones japonesas.
You also debuted in Japan in 2021. Congratulations! You debuted with Insomnia and just released Tokyo Lights. What does it mean for you to debut in Japan? How do you approach this new challenge in your career?Before Covid-19, I performed a lot in Japan with Korean releases. I was very happy to make my debut with a Japanese song and I was even more happier when I received a lot of support from Japanese fans. Each country has different tastes, so I think It’ll be fun to try new styles for songs released in Japan.
Tienes un objetivo o reto como artista? ¿Cuál es y por qué?
Estos días mucha gente está escuchando K-pop pero espero que también puedan escuchar mi música. Me gustaría poder interactuar con fans de diferentes países y también hacer conciertos en el extranjero.
Do you have a goal as an artist? What is it and why?Lately a lot of people are listening to K-pop but I hope more people would listen to my music! I want to interact with fans from many different countries! I also want to have concerts abroad!
¿Qué podemos esperar de Yukika en el futuro? ¿Qué proyectos tienes en mente? ¿Podremos escuchar música nueva pronto?
Sacamos el vinilo de TIME ABOUT hace poco y ¡acabó vendiéndose por completo en tres días! Estaba tan sorprendida.
Estos días estamos preparando nuevos proyectos y canciones. Especialmente en 2022, me gustaría ver a los fans en persona.
What can we expect from Yukika in he future? What projects do you have in mind? Can we listen to new music soon?Recently, the TIME ABOUT album was sold out when we released the vinyl form in only three days, I was so surprised.So we are currently preparing new projects and songs. Especially in 2022, I’d like to see fans in person.
¿Puedes enviar un saludo a tus fans en España y Latinoamérica?
Primero, me gustaría agradecer a todos los fans españoles y latino americanos por todo el apoyo y los mensajes que dejan en mis redes sociales. Muchísimas gracias por quererme y espero poder seguir dandoos buena música! Espero con ansias el día en que podamos vernos en persona y os pueda enseñar mis actuaciones y comunicarme con vosotros! ¡Os quiero!
Can you say something to your fans from Spain and Latinamerica?I wanted to say thank you to all the Spanish and latinamerican fans for supporting me through sns and leaving a lot of encouraging messages!Thank you for always loving me and I will continue to give you good music! I hope one day we can meet in person, so I can show you my songs and we can communicate! Love you!
